Peter Wells Evenings

As many of you will already have seen from the OCA diary, Witney Chess Club have engaged Grandmaster Peter Wells to hold two sessions at Ducklington Village Hall on;

12 November 2012 and 11 March 2013; start time 7.30 pm on both occasions.

The first evening will consist of a simultaneous display by Peter. The second evening will comprise a lecture (title to be determined; Peter has suggested that this be discussed during the first evening so that we can get an idea as to preferences).

These evenings are open to all Oxfordshire players, and we are very much hoping that, as with last season’s sessions, they will be well attended such that further such evenings can be arranged in the future.

In order to encourage early booking so that we can get an idea of likely numbers we are proposing the following prices:

  1. Both evenings booked by 31 October 2012: £10.00 (juniors £5.00).

  2. Individual evenings booked before 31 October 2012/28 February 2013: £6.00 (juniors £3.00)

  3. Bookings after 31 October 2012/28 February 2013 or on the night: £8.00 per evening (juniors £4.00).

Given the prevailing economic situation we are reducing adult prices from last year to encourage as many people as possible to attend, and are also significantly cutting junior prices in accordance with our aim of promoting junior chess in Oxfordshire.

Light refreshments (coffee, tea etc) will be included in the price.

If you would like to attend, please make cheques payable to "Witney Chess Club" and send them to;

Mike Truran

The Old Farmhouse,

7 Church Street,

Ducklington, Witney,

Oxon OX29 7UA; or email me on  to confirm your early booking discount and pay on the evening.

We would be very grateful if you could publicise these evenings within your various chess clubs - as well, of course, as attending yourselves!
